On Thursday 4th April, Dr Anthony Druttman will join us to deliver “CBCT Imaging and Endodontics”
Tony is committed to continuing postgraduate specialist education. In addition to attending conferences in the UK and abroad, he has lectured in the UK and at international congresses on endodontics topics. He is currently a guest teacher in endodontics in the Department of Continuing Professional Development at the Eastman Dental Institute for Oral Healthcare Sciences. He is a past president of the British Endodontic Society and is an active member of the European Society of Endodontology. He has been closely involved in the organization of postgraduate meetings of both these Societies. He is also a contributing author to ‘Endodontic Practice’, the leading specialist publication, and is a member of the Editorial Board.
CBCT scanning was introduced for dental diagnosis almost two decades ago. In recent years CBCT imaging has increased in popularity. A recent survey of endodontists in the USA for the American Association of Endodontists showed that over 50% of specialists had CBCT imaging systems installed in their practices. Add to that the number that would be using external imaging services (not quantified in the survey) and it is obvious that this diagnostic modality is rapidly becoming an essential part of endodontic practice. In the near future, there is little doubt that it will become the standard of care. The purpose of this presentation is to give those carrying out endodontic procedures and those referring patients for endodontic procedures an overview of the rationale for using CBCT imaging in endodontics. The advantages and limitations of both intra-oral radiography and CBCT will be discussed from a clinical point of view.
This session is aimed at Endodontists and those with an interest in endodontics. Thos with an interest in Dental CBCT Imaging will also benefit.
