The CBCT in Endodontics Workshop – 2 May, 2018

We are delighted to announce the first Cavendish Imaging “CBCT in Endodontics Workshop”. This exciting course will incorporate “hands-on” techniques combining 3D scanning and endodontics.

During the course, you will study and compare the scanned anatomy and the physical anatomy of several extracted teeth to then treat them endodontically. The workshop will be equipped with microscopes and endodontic apparatus to enable you to determine the shape and 3D path of the root canal on the CBCT scan, allowing you to appreciate and understand the value of CBCT imaging in Endodontics.

Dr Daniel Flynn, specialist endodontist, will be joining us to share his in-depth knowledge of this topic.

After qualifying from Trinity College Dublin in 2002, Daniel spent a year as a House Officer in the Dublin Dental Hospital, concentrating on both restorative dentistry and oral surgery. Following this, he worked in private practice for over two and a half years and completed the MFDS exams before beginning a three-year programme in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute. He lectures and gives hands-on courses for general dentists. Daniel also teaches Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute for Oral Healthcare Sciences.

This hands-on session will incorporate the use of imaging extracted teeth and endodontic microscopes and Each delegate will receive a Wave One gold kit, a Protaper Next kit, Xp shaper, finisher kits and One Curve kits.
These are the latest exciting advances in shaping technology and worth £££
There will also be the Endo-ultra, ultrasonic device, 3D printed teeth, a microscope and access to the J.Morita F170 Accuitomo  CBCT machine.

Aims:

  • To understand the potential of CBCT to aid in the diagnosis of endodontic problems
  • To understand how CBCT can aid in access cavity design
  • To visualise root canal anatomy and how to choose an instrumentation system to prepare the internal anatomy
